Biography

 

Born and raised in Pune, India, Madhuvanti's fascination with singing started at an early age. As a budding singer, her soothingly 

melodious voice would unfailingly strike a chord with listeners.

Gauging her talent, her parents encouraged her to cultivate

her voice. At the age of 13, under the guidance of N.V.Diwan,

Madhuvanti appeared for her first music exam and passed with flying colours.

The tuning point came when Madhuvanti, at the age of 15, met Dr.

Alka Deo Marulkar. For 9 long years, she diligently practicised under

Alkatai while simultaneously pursuing her academic studies. In 1990,

she obtained her BA in Performing Arts from the University of Pune.

In 1991, Madhuvanti was awarded the sangeet visharad degree by the Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Pune.

Madhuvanti's golden voice and poignant rendering is a powerful combination that captivates audiences wherever she performs. Since the last twenty-three years, Madhuvanti has been residing in the

Bay Area and has given sparkling performances. She has also received training, for a brief period, from Pt. Arun Dravid, a renowned exponent

of Jaipur Gharana. 

 

In a singing career spanning more than 25 years, she has won numerous awards and prizes.
